Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology
GZIST was formerly known as the private Tianhe Vocational School established under the approval of Guangdong provincial government in December 2000. It was renamed as Tianhe College of Guangdong Vocational Polytechnic Normal College (Junior College) with the permission of the Education Department of Guangdong Province in May 2001. In April 2006, approved by the Ministry of Education, it became an independent undergraduate school co-founded by Guangdong Polytechnic Normal College and Guangdong Minjian Co. Ltd. In December 2018, authorized by the Ministry of Education, the school changed its name to Tianhe College of Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University. On June 30th, 2020, Tianhe College was approved to become an independent private-owned non-profit undergraduate college with the new name “Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology”.
