Successful Completion of the 2025 International Conference on Structural Engineering and Industrial Architecture (ICSEIA 2025)
On June 14, 2025, with the approval of relevant authorities, the 2025 International Conference on Structural Engineering and Industrial Architecture (ICSEIA 2025), hosted by Foshan University and organized by the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation along with the AEIC Academic Exchange Center, was successfully held. The conference was conducted online, gathering over 300 top experts, scholars, and industry professionals from around the world to jointly discuss cutting-edge technologies and development trends in the fields of structural engineering and industrial architecture.
Opening Ceremony
At the opening ceremony, Prof. Yongchang Guo, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation at Foshan University, delivered a welcome speech, warmly greeting all attendees and emphasizing the significant role of this conference in promoting international academic exchange and cooperation. As the organizer, the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation at Foshan University boasts strong research capabilities and academic influence in the fields of structural engineering and industrial architecture. The school hosts Guangdong Province’s key advantageous disciplines and multiple high-level research platforms. Over the past five years, it has secured cumulative research funding exceeding 60 million RMB, published more than 300 high-quality papers in SCI and other journals, and been granted over 400 patents, providing essential technical support for local infrastructure development.
The conference theme, “Innovation-Driven Development, Technology Leading the Future,” featured keynote speeches from renowned experts including Prof. Jun Teng of Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, Prof. Junjie Zheng of Wuhan University, Prof. Zhechao Wang of Northeastern University, and Prof. Huafu Pei of Dalian University of Technology. Their presentations covered hot topics such as structural health monitoring, new technologies in subgrade engineering, evaluation and control of underground water-sealed cavern sealing performance, and monitoring of large deformations in geotechnical engineering. Participating scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on these topics, sharing the latest theoretical achievements and practical engineering experiences, thereby offering new ideas for industry advancement.
The conference also included a session for young scholars to present reports and engage in exchanges. Experts and scholars from domestic and international universities, research institutions, and enterprises actively participated, exchanging views on key issues in structural engineering and industrial architecture.
The successful hosting of ICSEIA 2025 not only established a high-quality academic exchange platform for global scholars in structural engineering and industrial architecture but also further promoted Foshan University’s international scientific cooperation and disciplinary development. Moving forward, Foshan University will continue to deepen open cooperation and join hands with global peers to jointly advance technological progress in the industry and contribute to social development.
